Hello lovelies! Here are the minutes from our first meeting of the semester:

+We're making a movie!!! The general concept is to highlight (or debunk)
the myths of Bryn Mawr, such a the Merion Ghost or the Pem East brothel.
If you know of any great Bryn Mawr myths or stories that you'd like to
share, you can email them to me at srose at brynmawr.edu, or you can meet a
group of us for brunch at Haffner this Sunday at 11:30 in the lobby. This
meeting is for anyone who wants to be apart of the script writing process.
If you're coming, just shoot me an email so we'll know to wait for you.
It should be fun!!!

+We can't make a movie and not show it to the world, right?? We're
planning an end-of-term film festival to showcase our group project and
any other movies any one else has made that they'd like to show. A fan of
uploading to YouTube? Burn me a DVD (I have blank ones if you want one)
and we'll make it a part of the showing! Content and length are up to
your discretion only - whatever you got, we want, even if it was filmed on
your phone. Email me if you think you'd like to be a part of it!

+Workshops are still happening. Late February-March, Vicky Funari (she's
on IMDB!) will be holding two two-hour sessions on video production. If
you want to be involved, you should have a work in progress or, at the
very least, a treatment of an idea you have. This is meant to help
develop and hone your filmmaking skills.

+MSA is hosting a film screening of "Prince Among Slaves" this Wednesday
at 7-9:30 at TGH. We are co-sponsoring the event, so please attend if
you're free.

+MadCat film festival should be coming to campus soon. More details will
follow

+For those of you interested in the video equipment Bryn Mawr has to
offer, contact Ralph Del Giudice at 610-526-7449. Multimedia office is in
the basement of Merion and they are open 8am-5pm. This is the link of
available resources (any filmmaker will probably be interested in the Mini
DV camcorder with tripod):
http://www.brynmawr.edu/multimedia/available.shtml. You'll want to
reserve equipment at least three days in advance.

That was pretty much all that was covered at the meeting tonight. The
next meeting will be Thursday, Feb 14 from 8-9, unless everybody wants to
make it sooner or later in the evening due to dinner plans and such. I
promise candy, at least! I'm personally free from 4pm on, so if you want
a time change, just let me know. I'm extremely flexible. :)

Also, if anyone's interested, UPenn is having an advanced screening of
Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show, Tuesday, Feb 5th. You can RSVP
here: http://www.campuscircle.com/screening/PennWildWest/

Remember that if you have any projects you're working on that you need
help with (actors, editors, boom mic holder, etc), you can send out a mass
email to filmsociety at brynmawr.edu. We're definitely here to support each
other in our individual endeavors.

Love and Netflix,
Shannon Rose, president
